Police arrest pair in Valentine’s Day robberies
Two people have been arrested in connection with two Valentine’s Day robberies.
Booking reports show Kenneth Wayne Cade, 28, and Savannah Marie Cole, 20, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery early Friday morning. Their arrests came after a man and woman robbed an Arby’s and a Circle K convenience store on Wednesday.
In the Arby’s robbery, a pair walked into the restaurant in the 4300 block of East Harry and ordered food. Police said the man pulled out a gun when the cash register opened, jumped on the counter and grabbed the money before the pair ran from the restaurant.
About 20 minutes later, a man and woman robbed the Circle K in the 500 block of North Seneca. The woman brandished the gun and demanded money while the man hit a customer who tried to intervene, police said. The pair ran with the cash register drawer, including the money inside.
Cade and Cole are also suspected of using a gun to rob a C Store in the 800 block of South Oliver on Feb. 7, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said.
A total of $565 was taken in the three robberies, police reports show.
Cade and Cole were arrested Thursday afternoon at a residence in the 4300 block of East Bayley and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail at around 1 a.m. Friday. Cade was booked on suspicion of three counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm. Cole was booked on suspicion of three counts of aggravated robbery.
