Man arrested in Wednesday homicide is North High staffer
The 30-year-old man accused of stabbing someone to death in Oaklawn Wednesday morning works at North High in Wichita, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.
Darius D. Warner, 30, was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail shortly before 8 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree murder, records show. He is an acquaintance of the man who was killed.
The man who died was identified Thursday morning as Theo L. Lolar, 30, of Wichita.
The staff directory for North High lists Warner as a paraeducator.
The stabbing happened in the 3300 block of East Sunview in Oaklawn shortly before 10:30 a.m., Capt. Mark Pierce of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said. Lolar was found in the middle of the street, just west of Sunview and Englewood.
Deputies were originally called about a disturbance. A neighbor several houses east of the scene said he heard yelling before deputies arrived.
What led up to the stabbing is still under investigation, Pierce said Friday.
