Wichita man sentenced in 2015 death of 1-year-old daughter
A Wichita man was ordered Thursday to spend 28 1/2 years in prison for killing his toddler daughter nearly two years ago.
Michael C. Williams, 31, pleaded guilty in December to second-degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the Sept. 9, 2015, death of Princess Teyonia Williams. His 342-month sentence was handed down by Sedgwick County District Judge Jeff Goering, said Dan Dillon, a spokesman for the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
Princess, who was 1, died of blunt force trauma after she was left in Williams’ care while her mother worked. The girl suffered massive internal injuries, including skull and rib fractures, according to a police affidavit in the case.
