Sheriff’s Office seeks public’s help in finding person who shot Tulsa man
The person or people who killed a 56-year-old Tulsa man whose body was discovered last week at 69th North and Hillside remained at large Wednesday, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Greg Pollock said sheriff’s investigators are working with law enforcement agencies from Kansas and Oklahoma to find those responsible for the death of Dale Childress.
He asked the public to help identify an unknown man wanted for questioning in the case and also for information leading to the whereabouts of a dark-colored, four-door Buick LeSabre with a model year between 2001 and 2005. The car could be painted dark green, Pollock said.
The man, pictured in a security-type photo released Wednesday by the sheriff’s office, appears to be in his 20s. Pollock said he may travel between Wichita and Tulsa.
“We would like to speak with this person in reference to our investigation,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call sheriff’s investigators at 316-660-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tipsters to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500 if their information leads to an arrest in the case.
Childress was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths last month of 37-year-old Jennifer Sudar and 26-year-old Amanda Douglas outside an east Tulsa apartment complex.
His body was found lying partially in the road in the 4000 block of 69th Street North at around 6 p.m. on Feb. 15. Sheriff’s officials have said an autopsy indicated that he died of a gunshot wound and was killed where he was discovered.
