KDOT: Kellogg on-ramp at West Street to reopen soon
An on-ramp from West Street to westbound Kellogg is scheduled to reopen in the next few weeks, according to a spokesman for the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Tom Hein of KDOT said the new on-ramp, for southbound West Street traffic only, could open by next week or the first part of September. Access to Kellogg from West Street has been closed since January for work on the new I-235 interchange.
The ramp opening may ease concerns of nearby businesses such as longtime restaurant Town & Country, which has had to dispel rumors of its closing because of the construction.
On Friday, the right lane of westbound Kellogg is scheduled to close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the removal of a concrete barrier wall near West Street. Next Tuesday, the right lane of eastbound Kellogg and the northbound I-235 ramp to eastbound Kellogg will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of a concrete barrier wall, according to a KDOT news release.
