Police: No answers yet after body found in Arkansas River

Wichita police are still waiting for autopsy results to confirm the identity and gender of the body found in the Arkansas River south of Kellogg on Thursday afternoon.

Kayakers found the body near Herman Hill Park, at Pawnee and Broadway, at about 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, police have said. The body was hung up on a sandbar.

Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow on Friday said investigators had no new information in the case. They were awaiting autopsy results to determine identity and cause of death.
