A teenage girl who has been missing since Saturday was found safe Tuesday afternoon, Wichita police announced.

Mariana Gonzalez, 14, was located in Wichita, according to a tweet posted by the Police Department. Officials said they would not release more information about how and where she was found until Wednesday morning at City Hall.

The girl, who has mental disabilities, left her house in the 300 block of North Spruce without permission at about 5 p.m. on Saturday, police have said. She has wandered away before, her family told police, but she has always returned home or been found a short distance away.

An Amber Alert was not issued, police officials said, because there was no evidence that she had been abducted.
