City’s ‘Night with Santa’ to be held Tuesday at Century II

The city of Wichita’s “A Night with Santa” will be held Tuesday at Century II, 225 W. Douglas.

The event, which is open to the public, is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts and Convention Center. There is no charge, although donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted to help the Kansas Food Bank.

The outdoor portion of the event includes the lighting of a Christmas tree, Newman University’s Troubadours singing carols, Mrs. Claus reading “The Night Before Christmas,” Santa arriving on a fire truck and fireworks.

Inside, there will be games, crafts and inflatables for children 12 and younger. A photographer will take pictures of people with Santa for $5, or individuals can use their cameras to take the pictures for free.

The city’s Park and Recreation Department is putting on the event.

These streets will be closed during the event:

▪ Douglas, from Main Street to McLean Boulevard

▪ Waco, from Douglas to First Street

▪ Century II Drive, from Main to Douglas

▪ South Cancun Street, from Century II Drive to west Tlalnepantla Drive

▪ North Civic Center Place, north side of Douglas

▪ Wichita Street, north side of Douglas

▪ Intersection of Douglas and Water Street
