Is your Thanksgiving grocery store checklist growing as it gets close to the holiday? If you’re hosting family and friends for dinner Thursday, you’re probably spending some time at the grocery store leading up to the big meal.
But you still might find yourself without a key ingredient when you start cooking your meal. While you could ask your neighbors to borrow something, you may also end up in need of a quick grocery store visit.
Most Wichita-area grocery stores are closed on Thanksgiving, but there are two options for you earlier in the day. Here’s a list of Wichita grocery stores open and closed on the holiday, in case you find yourself in need.
Grocery stores open on Thanksgiving
Dillons’ Wichita locations will be open on Thanksgiving, but they will close early at 3 p.m. Opening time can vary by location. The store will be open normal hours on Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Whole Foods, 1423 N. Webb Road, is also open for limited hours Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The store will be open normal hours on Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Grocery stores closed on Thanksgiving
All Walmart and Target locations will be closed for the holiday.
Most Walmarts will be open Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Targets from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., but hours can vary depending on location.
Members-only big box stores Costco and Sam’s Club will also be closed Thursday but open normal hours Wednesday. Costco’s normal hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sam’s Club’s are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Aldi, Trader Joe’s and Natural Grocers also join stores that are closed for Thanksgiving.
Aldi is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Trader Joe’s from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Natural Grocers from 8:57 a.m. to 8:36 p.m.
All GreenAcres Market locations are closed for Thanksgiving but open normal hours Wednesday. Normal hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. except the East Central store, which closes at 7 p.m.
