One man died and two other people were injured after a mobile home caught fire Wednesday in south Wichita.

First responders were sent to a fire call at 7:18 a.m. in the 7100 block South Volutsia in south Wichita, between Haysville and Derby.

Fire crews arrived and saw flames coming from the mobile home and found three people who had gotten out of the home. First responders performed life-saving measures on a man, but he died on the front lawn, Wichita Fire Department battalion Chief Jose Ocadiz said.

The man’s identity was not released.

Two other people were taken to St. Francis Hospital’s Burn Center with injuries. Ocadiz did not know the name or city of the man who died, or of the people who were injured. It is unclear if the three people lived in the mobile home.

The case remains under investigation.

Responding agencies included the Wichita Fire Department, Sedgwick County Fire District One and Derby Fire Department.
