A Valley Center man has died after the vehicle he was driving along I-135 left the road and struck a sign and guard rail just after midnight on Monday.

Jason Sutcliffe, 44, was northbound on I-135 at mile marker 11.6 in north central Wichita around 12:30 a.m. when the 2020 Jeep Wrangler he was driving left the roadway to the left and struck a Kansas Department of Transportation construction sign and guardrail, Kansas Highway Patrol crash log said.

The Jeep overturned and came to rest on its right side. Sutcliffe died at the scene of the crash, the KHP said.

A GoFundMe was been set up to pay for Sutcliffe’s funeral expenses.

“We lost the best person today,” the fundraiser said. “Everyone loved Jason. He was a true friend, father and brother; willing to help anyone in need.”
