Man, 22, dies after being hit by pickup while trying to cross I-235 on Saturday
A man died after he was struck by a pickup while attempting to walk across I-235 on Saturday.
The man was identified as 22-year-old Colin Garrett of Arion, Iowa, Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.
The incident was reported around 5:10 a.m. along southbound I-235 about a half-mile from the Central exit.
The report said a southbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado struck Garrett while he was “attempting to cross the interstate.”
Garrett was taken to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis where he died from his injuries. The driver of the truck, 42-year-old Michael Keith of Wichita, was not injured in the crash.
