Woman dies after fire erupts at Andover home; man expected to be released from hospital

A woman who was rescued from a house fire Monday in Andover has died from her injuries.

The woman was taken to Kansas Medical Center in Andover, where she died. A man rescued from the same house was taken to Via Christi St. Francis and is expected to be released later today, Andover public information officer Megan Schapaugh said in a news release.

The fire was reported around 9:41 a.m. The location was not provided in the news release and officials were not immediately available for comment.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Andover Fire-Rescue and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time,” the release said.
