How much is the typical home in Wichita worth? These zip codes have the highest values
If you’re house hunting in Wichita, you’ll want to move fast. According to Redfin, houses there sell 13 days after they’re put on the market.
Before you start your home search, it’s important to know exactly how much money you’re willing to spend and what areas of the city fit your budget.
Looking at the statewide data from the Kansas Association of Realtors, home sales in the state fell by 32.1% in December compared to a year before. The average sale price that same month was about $281,000, a 5.1% increase.
The housing market in Wichita is growing fast. Last year, houses took, on average, 48 days to sell after they were put on the market, according to Redfin, and Wichita’s median home sale price sits at $180,200, up to 0.7% year-over-year.
In comparison, according to Zillow, the median home value in the city is about $232,000. The real estate site reports the zip code with the highest median home value is 67228 at more than $433,000.
That’s followed closely by zip code 67230 with a value of just more than $417,000. Zip code 67214 has the lowest median value at $70,908, Zillow reports.
