Man, 57, dies when SUV collides with pickup truck in southeast Sedgwick County

A 57-year-old man is dead after a collision southeast of Wichita on Monday morning, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ben Blick said.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. at K-15 and 55th Street near Derby. The 57-year-old man was heading west on W. 55th Street S. in a 2012 Chevy Silverado when he was struck by a 30-year-old man heading south on K-15 in a 2013 Subaru SUV, according to Blick.

The 57-year-old man died at the scene of the collision. The 30-year-old man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Blick said.

Stop signs are posted for east and westbound traffic on 55th Street at K-15, Blick added.
