The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified a Missouri man who was struck by a car Thursday morning in Saline County, KHP crash logs show.

The incident was reported around 6:45 a.m. about three miles south of Salina. KHP trooper Ben Gardner said the victim was David Jackson, 25, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Jackson was heading southbound on I-135 in a passenger vehicle when it collided with a semi truck shortly before 6:30 a.m. No one was injured, Gardner said.

For unknown reasons, Jackson got out of his car and began walking south from the scene of the crash, Gardner said.

A 2012 Chevy Equinox driven by 21-year-old Josiah Hein of Lincoln, Nebraska, was heading south on I-135. The crash log said Jackson was on the highway and was struck by the Equinox on I-135 at mile marker 86.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene. Hein and his passenger in the Equinox were not injured.
