SUV driver killed in crash after rear-ending semi south of Newton, officials say
One woman died Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle wreck south of Newton.
Emergency crews were called at around 10:54 a.m. to an injury accident in the 5600 block of South Kansas Avenue, Harvey County public information officer Kyle McCaskey said in a news release. Investigators determined an SUV was northbound on the road when it rear-ended a semi that was making a delivery to a home.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. She was a woman in her 30s. The semi driver was not hurt.
