Sheriff’s Office has possible vehicle description in Clearwater man’s death

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning near Clearwater.

According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an accident at about 2:30 a.m. on 103rd Street South between Ridge Road and Hoover. They found a man, 43, who had been walking in the road and was struck by a dark-colored vehicle, thought to be a Hyundai or Kia sport utility vehicle. The Clearwater resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are trying to identify and locate anyone who may have been in the area between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday. They are seeking witnesses, the driver and/or owner of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian. The vehicle may have damage.
