It’s the last weekend of winter — officially. We think spring started last weekend. Here are some things to do in the Wichita area this weekend, including some St. Patrick’s Day activities (that is Tuesday officially, and the first official day of spring is Friday) and several free ones:

Gathering for Gardeners, day of free garden seminars in Hutchinson, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th St. in Hutchinson (west of the Cosmosphere on 12th); free.

Celebration of Blackbear Bosin’s mural “From Whence All Life,” 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Mid-America All-Indian Center, 650 N. Seneca; 10 a.m. talk by David Simmonds on the life of Bosin and the history of the mural; 10:30 a.m. talk by Doug Robertson, director of the documentary “Tsate Kongia: Walking in Two Worlds, the Life of Blackbear Bosin;” 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., showings of the documentary. State high school basketball championships, games begin noon Saturday; championship games start at 4 p.m. At eight sites around the state including Class 6A at Koch Arena, Class 4A-II at Hartman Arena, Class 3A at Hutchinson Community College. $8 adults, $6 students K-12; www.kshsaa.org

Family Fun Day at Ulrich Museum of Art, activities involving sound, movement and technology and make-it-take-it art projects for all ages inspired by the “Intellectual Property Donor” exhibition by Evan Roth, plus participation in performances by the School of Music’s Impulse Percussion Group, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Ulrich Galleries at Wichita State, 1845 Fairmount.
