One more death, 18 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Sedgwick County
Another person from the Wichita area has died from the coronavirus disease, public health officials report.
The Sedgwick County Health Department’s COVID-19 dashboard showed one new death on Sunday, bringing the total to 56 dead from the pandemic. The number of deaths connected to clusters did not increase. The cluster death count remained at 39.
Additional information on deceased patients is not released by the county.
The county also reported 18 new cases, bringing the cumulative total to 7,304, and 304 more people tested, putting that total at 83,347. The positive test rate stayed level at 8.08%. The percentage has been trending downward.
Of the 18 new cases, three of the patients were in the infant to 19-year-old age group. The 20-39 group had seven new cases, the 40-59 group added two, the 60-79 group added four and the 80 and older group added two.
New county hospitalization numbers are expected on Monday.
