This Wichita business may look closed, but it’s not

At least one passerby thought the west-side Sola Salons near 21st and Tyler had closed, but it turns out the business’ signs are just down for now.

“Yikes,” operations manager Austin Bakri said when he heard people might think the business has closed.

“I don’t want people to think that.”

He said with the opening of the new KPOT at the center this Saturday — it’s going where Jose Pepper’s used to be — the landlord is repainting the building.

It’s also an opportunity for Sola Salons to update its signage, as the chain already has done with its two east-side locations.

Bakri said as the building gets a facelift, “We can just update our image, too.”
