A once-robust national retailer is now gone from Wichita

For a long time, national retailer Tuesday Morning was one of the more popular discount home decor stores in Wichita.

It expanded from smaller, older stores into newer, larger spaces, but now both of Wichita’s Tuesday Morning stores have closed.

The west-side store a couple of blocks north of the northeast corner of 21st and Maize Road closed in 2020 less than three years after moving to its new space.

Now, the Tuesday Morning at Regency Lakes, at 21st and Greenwich, has closed, too.

The closure came with more than 250 Tuesday Morning closures nationally as part of the Dallas company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy to reorganize.

Don Piros, a broker with Landmark Commercial Real Estate, is now trying to lease the 18,250-square-foot building, which he called an open space that’s in a booming area.

Piros said he hopes to attract another national tenant to the property.
