New franchise for NewMarket Square is set to open Nov. 1

Though it’s taken longer than planned, Wichita’s second European Wax Center is set to open Nov. 1 at NewMarket Square between Panera Bread and Cocoa Dolce Chocolates.

“We’re lucky to be opening now,” said Sara Gans, who is starting the business with Britt King.

“Our contractor kind of dropped the ball a little bit,” Gans said. “He didn’t apply for a permit . . . and I caught it.”

The franchise is separate from the one at the Waterfront, which opened in 2015.

Wax passes that are purchased at either site are good at the other, Gans said.

Gans said the waxes are all about comfortable body hair removal with a four-step technique that involves cleansing, a pre-wax oil, a comfort wax and a restoring serum.

The center will offer waxing for the entire body.

For anyone who has never been to a European Wax Center, Gans said the first visit is free for either an eyebrow, ears, nose or bikini wax.

Hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 pm. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
