New franchise to open at NewMarket Square
A second European Wax Center is going to open in Wichita, but this time it will be on the west side with new franchisees.
The first opened in 2015 at the Waterfront.
Sara Gans and Britt King are opening the new European Wax Center at NewMarket Square between Panera Bread and Cocoa Dolce Chocolates.
“We know Wichita west will be a great location,” Gans said.
She said they chose NewMarket Square, at 21st and Maize Road, because it’s a center with great exposure.
“We needed strong brand visibility and easy access and good parking.”
If you’re not familiar with the European Wax Center chain, Gans said it’s all about comfortable body hair removal with a “stripless wax that goes on warm.”
“It doesn’t adhere to the skin, which is nice.”
She said that’s because of a four-step process.
A cleanser prepares the skin with what Gans called a pre-wax oil.
“It protects the skin and holds the hair up so that the wax catches only the hair follicle and not the skin.”
Then there’s the comfort wax, followed by the hair removal and a calming cream.
In addition to being more comfortable, Gans said there are better results, too.
The center will offer waxing for the entire body.
“The best buy is buying the wax packages,” Gans said.
Marc Knowles and Chris Newkirk of CBRE handled the deal for the space.
She said she’s waiting to hear when work can start on the interior. With the pandemic, Gans said, “It’s been kind of tough to get a start date.”
Ideally, the business will open in the fall, and if that doesn’t happen, Gans said it will be by the end of the year at the latest.
This European Wax Center will feature the company’s new interior look, she said.
“It’s really going to be . . . beautiful.”
