What’s going on with Wichita’s Under Armour store that was supposed to open?

Under Armour is delayed in getting its new Wichita store open at Greenwich Place due to supply-chain issues. Ironically, the door to the new store is papered with notices about missed deliveries.

In January, Have You Heard? reported that Under Armour is coming to a freestanding building in front of REI at Greenwich Place at K-96 and Greenwich. The Baltimore-based international chain of casual and sports wear said it would open in September, but that didn’t happen.

Opening dates have changed several times, but the store is now slated to open in early 2022.

“This is due to a delay in the delivery of our fixtures, related to the ongoing supply chain issues that are impacting businesses across the world,” said an e-mailed statement from the Under Armour media relations team. “We look forward to opening our Wichita store as soon as we can.”

Ironically, there are numerous notes of missed deliveries from UPS and FedEx on the door at the Wichita Under Armour.

Under Armour sells a variety of apparel and accessories, including T-shirts, shoes, caps and gloves, that major athletes such as Steph Curry and Michael Phelps promote.

Look for more details on the new store closer to its opening.
