Another Steven acquisition likely will be followed by more in 2020

Brothers Zack and Tommy Steven ended 2019 the same way they seemed to spend the whole year and the few years before that: by acquiring another company.

The Reddi Industries partners purchased Ayers Sprinkler Systems in Derby.

Zack Steven says Ayers has a big focus on Derby but covers all of Wichita with installations and service, which is an even bigger part of what the company does.

With the acquisition, Reddi will have five more sprinkler technicians.

“The really cool thing is the opportunity to bring on skilled technicians,” Steven says.

Ayers has been in business for four decades, so the name won’t completely go away, he says.

However, Steven says, “We’ll make sure the customers know we’re one in the same now.”

Reddi, which does heating and air, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, sprinklers, fencing, lawn care, garage doors, appliance repair and industrial services, now has 170 employees.

That number is likely to grow through more acquisitions in 2020, Steven says.

“We always have some on the table that we’re looking at.”
