QuikTrip adds grab-and-go sub options at every Wichita-area store
In something of a trial run, QuikTrip began reconfiguring its Generation 3 stores to start serving sub sandwiches late last year.
“We had to make sure that we could do it,” says Mike Thornbrugh, spokesman for the Tulsa-based company.
Now, 19 of its 38 stores in the Wichita area have been remodeled to serve the made-to-order sandwiches.
The rest now also have grab-and-go sub sandwiches, which are made at stores with the reconfigured kitchens and transported to the ones that haven’t been updated.
Remodeling the other stores is “going to take some time,” Thornbrugh says.
As Have You Heard? reported last summer, the company’s focus is now on expanding to San Antonio and Austin, though Thornbrugh adds, “But not forgetting the existing markets we’re in.
