Police arrest suspected Wichita night club shooter in Arizona

Police have arrested the 23-year-old suspect they say is responsible for last month’s shooting at Enigma night club that left one man dead and five women wounded.

Keshawn Maurice Dawson was arrested in Phoenix on Friday, according to a Wichita Police Department news release.

The arrest was made with assistance from the United States Marshal’s fugitive task force. Dawson, who was wanted for murder and other charges, will be extradited back to Sedgwick County.

Police say Dawson fired shots through the front glass doors of Enigma in the early morning hours of Sept. 7 after being kicked out of the club.

The shooting killed Preston Spencer, a well-known local bartender, who shielded his pregnant cousin with his body when shots were fired.
