Filling the Gap lunch program seeking summer snack donations
A nonprofit group is seeking donations of snack items to include in the lunches it will serve to kids later this summer.
The “Filling the Gap Lunches for Kids” program, run by Partners for Wichita, provides free meals on weekdays from July 28 through Aug. 8, after the federally funded summer lunch program has ended but before school begins.
The group will hold a snack donation day from noon to 4 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 525 N. Broadway. Volunteers are seeking donations of nonperishable snack items such as individual beef sticks, healthy snack bars, crackers and individual fruit or pudding cups.
For more information or to make arrangements to donate snacks, send an e-mail to danielle@partnersforwichita.org or call 316-263-1389.
