On second Kansas tour, Bob Dole to visit Wichita

Former Sen. Bob Dole has firmed up his schedule for another visit to his home state of Kansas, this time including specific venues and places.

The trip will include a visit to Wichita on May 14. Dole will visit Wichita State University’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th St. North, from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m.

All visits are open to the public, his office said.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Kansas for the second time this spring,” Dole said in a statement. “I hope to see friends and former supporters of mine, and I am looking forward to enjoying more cookies along the way – preferably oatmeal raisin and chocolate.”

Dole visited several Kansas cities, including Lawrence, last month.

According to Dole’s office in Washington, his schedule for May is as follows:

Marysville – American Legion Post No. 163, 310 N. 19th St., 12:35-1:30 p.m.

May 13

Junction City – venue to be determined, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
