Garden tour season starts
June has become garden-tour season in the Wichita area. The master gardeners’ tour this weekend kicks off four weekends in a row of garden tours.
Master gardeners’ garden tour
When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday
Where: 10 Hawthorne, 6409 Abbotsford, 4317 Eagle Lake Drive in Bel Aire, 3382 Riverdale Road, 2905 N. Wild Rose Court, 7007 W. 12th St., 2538 Glacier Drive, 10126 W. Westport Court
How much: $10 for admission to all gardens on the tour; tickets available at each garden during tour hours, or online at www.sedgwick.ksu.edu

College Hill Historical/Architectural/Garden Tour
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11
Where: Walking tour of the 100 to 400 blocks of North Belmont, between Douglas and Central (and between the arches)
How much: $6 on site, which includes a pamphlet of historical information about the houses; children ages under 12 free

Marion garden tour
When: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25
Where: 203 W. 8th in Florence, 54 Lakeshore Drive at Marion County Lake, an old barn at 1761 130th, and 1914 Quail Creek in Marion
How much: $5; tickets available before and during the tour at the Marion City Library, 101 Library St., in the restored Santa Fe Railroad Station behind the Marion County Courthouse (visible from Main Street). Refreshments also will be served there during the tour.
