Redbud tour this weekend in Sedan

The redbuds are in early bloom this year, so the annual Chautauqua County Redbud Tour will be this weekend.

Three possible tour routes will be suggested for people who set out from Sedan, southeast of Wichita in Chautauqua County, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lakes, playgrounds, parks, restaurants and shops can be found along the routes, along with wild cherry and plum trees also in bloom. Butcher Falls and the Red Buffalo Ranch owned by Bill Kurtis are also on one of the routes.

You can pick up a county map and a guide of the three suggested routes plus receive a free redbud tree per family outside Floyds’ Market under the big flag at the corner of Main and Douglas in Sedan.

The tour, sponsored by the Sedan Area Chamber of Commerce, is free, but donations will be accepted.
