The tulips are starting to bloom — ahead of schedule, of course — at Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine, so the garden gate will be open this weekend for visitors. Trees including magnolias and peaches, and shrubs including spirea and quince also are flowering.

Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; a $5 donation is requested. The arboretum’s website is www.bartlettarboretum.com.
