In My Garden: Flowers from friends
Flowers from friends
Most of the flowers in my garden come from gardens of my friends, so as I walk among my flowers, I am reminded of people I care about all over the country. I also have two plants from my home state of Washington: a wisteria that grew on the house my father was born in 84 years ago and miniature tea rose I’ve had for over 50 years. It hasn’t been easy to create a cottage garden in the heat and drought of Kansas, but over the last five years, I have discovered what looks dainty but can still withstand the weather.
