Toy organization tips

Here are some ways to organize your child’s play area on the cheap, from blogger Jamielyn Nye of IHeartNapTime:

Baskets are a quick and easy way to hide toys and gadgets in the living room. You can also use them for storing blankets, pillows, shoes or anything that keeps your living space from looking clutter-free.

Display small toys in clear containers that you may normally find in the kitchen.

Use a dish rack to store coloring books and artwork. It will keep the items organized and offer children easy access to encourage cleanup.

Time for new daylilies

On the heels of a delightfully long daylily season, the Wichita Daylily Club will have its annual daylily sale next weekend, and you can learn more about daylilies at a talk ahead of the sale on Wednesday, both at Botanica. You can also divide daylilies in your own garden now.

The sale will be over two days this year – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 and 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 7. The daylilies will be divisions from beds at Botanica and members’ gardens. Shop early for best selection and before the daylilies sell out. Entry to the sale is free.

Sherryl Fitzpatrick will show photos and talk about daylilies at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday; it’s included in Botanica admission.
