Man, woman killed in Derby shooting ‘believed to be related,’ police say
A man and woman in their 30s were killed in a shooting Saturday afternoon in Derby, police say.
At 5:19 p.m., police were dispatched to a shooting call near East Patriot Avenue and Rock Road in Derby, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.
Police think the man and woman are related, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Cpt. Brad Hoch said.
The man and woman were in separate vehicles prior to the shooting. Hoch did not say what led to the shooting. Investigators think an altercation began in Derby and moved to the shooting location, Hoch said.
There were no suspects Saturday evening, Hoch said, and the man and woman seem to be the only two people involved.
