Wichita’s newest breakfast restaurant quietly opened today
Wichita’s second location of The Big Biscuit restaurant quietly launched its “soft opening” today.
Locals have been watching over the past several months as the Kansas City-based breakfast and lunch chain transformed the former Jimmy’s Egg space at 106 S. Hydraulic. Its hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
A spokesperson said today that the restaurant will celebrate its grand opening later.
Two more Big Biscuit restaurants are set to open in the Wichita area. One will open later this year in another former Jimmy’s Egg spot at 7777 E. 21st St. The other will open in the former IHOP space at 1906 N. Rock Road in Derby.
Wichita’s first location of The Big Biscuit opened in December at 2330 N. Maize Road.
The chain, which also has restaurants in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas, serves a big menu of breakfast dishes including biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, Benedicts, waffles, french toast and breakfast sandwiches. It also serves lunch items like salads, burgers, sandwiches and fried chicken strips.
