Big Biscuit breakfast chain has also chosen site for its east Wichita restaurant
It’s been a big week for news about The Big Biscuit.
We now know where the fourth of four corporate-owned locations of the Kansas City-based breakfast chain The Big Biscuit will open. It’s taking over the spot at 7777 E. 21st St. where Wichita’s first-ever Jimmy’s Egg opened. That restaurant closed in June.
An active restaurant real estate watcher in Wichita, Joshua Alexander, noticed recently that the address was listed on Google as a future site of The Big Biscuit, and a spokesperson for the chain confirmed today that the information was correct. There should be more information next week about a timeline for the Rock Road restaurant.
Earlier this week, the same spokesperson for The Big Biscuit confirmed that the just-closed IHOP restaurant building at 1906 N. Rock Road in Derby would also be transformed into a Big Biscuit restaurant. He estimated that it would be ready by the second half of next year.
The Wichita area’s first Big Biscuit is under construction in an old Mexican restaurant space at 2330 N. Maize Road and on track for an October opening. The sign recently went up on the building.
And earlier this summer, the chain confirmed that it would also be taking over the building at 106 S. Hydraulic that Jimmy’s Egg left at the end of last year. That location of The Big Biscuit is likely to open in early 2026.
The Big Biscuit, which has nearly 30 locations in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas, serves a big menu of breakfast dishes including biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, Benedicts, waffles, french toast and breakfast sandwiches. It also serves lunch items like salads, burgers, sandwiches and fried chicken strips.
