Business partners are about to bring a new coffee chain to Wichita
The building is ready. The landscaping is underway. And now Ziggi’s Coffee franchisees Adam Frey and Blake Yakel are just about ready to open the first Wichita location of the chain, which already has stores in Rose Hill and Derby.
The new Ziggi’s, which is at 8669 W. 29th St. North, will open for business on Tuesday, March 10, and during its first week will offer deals every day.
On Tuesday, the staff will be giving away free Ziggi’s swag, and customers who scan their Ziggi’s Rewards apps at checkout will be entered for a chance to win one free 16 oz. drink a week for 52 weeks. On Wednesday, March. 11, the shop will donate a portion of the day’s sales to the Maize Education Foundation.
On Thursday, March 12, the shop will offer 50% off drinks, and on Friday, it will offer 50% off dirty sodas. The Saturday, March 14, deal is 50% off food items with purchase of a drink size small or larger. And on Sunday, March 15, customers can buy one drink and get a second drink of equal or lesser value for free.
Starting on Tuesday, the shop will be open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 6 a.m.to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Frey is also the owner of Wichita Lawn Care. He and Yakel also opened the Rose Hill shop, but another franchisee owns the Ziggi’s in Derby.
Ziggi’s Coffee is a Colorado-based chain that was founded in 2004 and now has more than 100 locations across the country. It’s known for its iced coffee drinks, energy drinks and dirty sodas and offers a food menu that features breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos and baked goods.
The shops are drive-through only but have outdoor seating. Frey said he hopes to open other Ziggi’s shops in the Wichita area but has no firm plans yet.
The Derby Ziggi’s opened in January at 1728 N. Nelson Drive. The Rose Hill store opened on New Year’s Eve 2024.
