New owners of Wichita’s Doo-Dah Diner about to make one big change

Starting on July 28, Wichita will be able to do something it hasn’t done before:

Eat at Doo-Dah Diner on a Monday.

The new owners of the diner at 206 E. Kellogg — brothers and business partners Jay and Jeff Miller — are making good on a promise they made when they bought the diner in June: Starting on Monday, July 28, they’ll start opening Doo-Dah Diner seven days a week.

The new hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The Millers decided to purchase the diner from founders Patrick and Timirie Shibley, who were selling it so that they could focus on Patrick’s health. He was diagnosed with stage four metastatic prostate cancer in late 2023. The couple opened the restaurant in 2012.

The Millers vowed to keep most everything in the diner the same as it was when the Shibleys owned the restaurant. Both were longtime customers of the diner and also are the Five Guys Burgers & Fries franchisees in Wichita.

Though they’re still just getting started at their new restaurant, they say things are moving along smoothly.

“So far, so good,” Jay Miler said.
