Not only is Wichita-based Fugate Enterprises — which has 51 Taco Bell restaurants in Kansas — adding a brand new restaurant later this year, but it’s also just relocated one of its long-time locations.

First, the new restaurant: Ryan Wasinger, who is president of Fugate’s TB of America, said that the company plans to add a new Taco Bell at 29th and Greenwich. The address — 11155 E. 29th St. North — is next to the new Goodwill store at 11027 E. 29th St.

Construction hasn’t started on the new Taco Bell yet, Wasinger said, but it will later this year. He said the company hopes to have the new restaurant — which will be similar to the modern Taco Bell the company added early last year at 53rd North and Meridian — open by the end of 2025. At the moment, the closest Taco Bell to that intersection is at 2230 N. Rock Road.

In other local Taco Bell news, the company last week completed its move of the Taco Bell that had operated at 3725 E. Harry for 40 years to the former Hardee’s building across the street at 3216 E. Harry. The original restaurant closed on April 13 and reopened in the new spot on April 16.

The new location is right on the corner, which gives the restaurant more visibility, Wasinger said.

“It’s a little bigger than what we normally build, but it’s a good corner with a lot of traffic, and customers are finding us,” he said.
