West Wichita’s wait for Crumbl Cookies is almost over: Store announces opening date
Ever since Wichita’s first Crumbl Cookies store opened at 2564 N. Greenwich in 2019, devotees on the west side of Wichita have had to endure an epic drive across town to get their fixes.
That’s about to end. Crumbl’s area manager says that an opening date has been chosen for the store at 2755 N. Maize Road that I first wrote about in October. Its soft opening date will be Thursday, April 20, Trevor Sherrow said, and the grand opening will be Friday, April 21.
Members of the public are welcome both days, he said, though the store’s 70 employees will still be learning their jobs on the soft opening date, he said.
Crumbl is a Utah-based cookie chain that has built a massive Instagram following, meaning many of its customers are teens and young adults. The stores introduce several new flavors of their extra big, extra frosted and extra decadent cookies every week, and fans scramble to try the new flavors.
Derby also has a Crumble store, which opened at 1918 N. Rock Road in November 2020.
