Wichita’s newest Freddy’s restaurant is ready to open, but it’s a bit different
Wichita’s newest Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opens Tuesday, but this one is a bit different from most of the others that have opened around town during the past several years.
The restaurant, Wichita’s sixth Freddy’s, is at 2021 N. Amidon, in the New Leaf Plaza. Unlike most Freddy’s, though, this one will not have a drive-through. It will, however, offer delivery service through DoorDash and Uber Eats.
In Wichita, only the Freddy’s at 310 N. Rock Road operates without a drive-through.
Inside, the new restaurant has 2,702 square feet and seating for 68. Seating also is available on the patio.
The new Freddy’s hours are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
It’s the first full-sized restaurant to open in Wichita since the one at 3450 S. Meridian, across from the South Branch YMCA, opened in September 2018. It will be Wichita’s sixth full-sized Freddy’s, though there are also Freddy’s kiosks inside Wichita State University’s Rhatigan Student Center and at the Riverfront Stadium concession area where the Wichita Wind Surge play.
