New chicken restaurant will open on Sunday on Wichita’s east side
Wichita’s newest Chick N Max restaurant is scheduled to open on Sunday in a made-over former Wendy’s building at 5510 E. Central.
And when it does, the Chick N Max count in Wichita will go back up to three.
The new restaurant features 2,400 square feet and indoor seating for 54 people. It will also have a patio with room for 18 that will open in mid-April as well as a drive-through.
It’s intended as a replacement for the Chick N Max that closed earlier this year at 2530 N. Greenwich. That restaurant did not have a drive-through, and a spokesman said that moving forward, owner Max Sheets wants all of his new restaurants to have drive-through capabilities.
Chick N Max will offer an opening-day special on Sunday, when its Tender Family Meal featuring 12 tenders, two family-sized sides and choice of toast, cornbread or hush puppies will be $25.
The hours of the new restaurant will be 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Wichita’s other Wichita Chick N Max restaurants are at 37th and Maize and at West and Maple. Chick N Max is a quick-service restaurant that specializes in tenders, wings, sandwiches, fries, chicken and waffles and smoked chicken.
