This Wichita restaurant just opened in November. Now, it may have less than a month left

It opened just two months ago, but a west-side Wichita restaurant has less than a month left if the owner does not find a buyer.

Joseph Fowler, who just before Thanksgiving opened his T’Geaux Cajun restaurant in the former Pizza Hut building at 8977 W. Central, now says that he has to unload it. He’s put the restaurant up for sale for $45,000 — a price that he says includes the name, recipes, equipment and furnishings. A new owner would take over Fowler’s lease and utilities on the building.

If he doesn’t find a buyer by the end of the month, he said, he’ll close on Feb. 1. He cited “a lack of staff and ongoing health issues” as his reason for the decision.

Fowler — who opened Electric Pizzeria at 240 S. West St. in 2019 — originally took over the Pizza Hut building near Central and Tyler in late June and opened a second location of his Electric Pizzeria there. But by November, he decided it wasn’t working because of a spike in the price of pizza ingredients. He also decided the new location was too close to the original, so he changed the restaurant over to a quick-service Cajun place.

Fowler said he’ll keep the Electric Pizzeria at Maple and West open, though business there has not been great either, he said.

“Everyone forgot we exist,” he said.
