And now a restaurant at Wichita’s Bradley Fair has closed after a positive COVID-19 test
And another one is down.
On Friday, owner Ty Issa closed down his YaYa’s Eurobistro, the fine dining restaurant at 8115 E. 21st St. in Bradley Fair, after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee, a server, worked the day shift on Wednesday, Issa said, then learned she may have been exposed. She got a rapid test and learned she was positive. She has not experienced any symptoms so far, Issa said.
Issa said he decided to close the restaurant on Friday and to get all his employees tested as a precaution. He had a band scheduled for Friday evening on the patio, which he canceled, and he moved two scheduled banquets to his family’s other restaurants — Larkspur and Scotch & Sirloin.
He said he will use the time it takes for employees to get tested to clean and disinfect the restaurant. He hopes to reopen mid- to late next week.
On Thursday, two other east-side restaurants — Greystone and Deano’s — closed for the same reason.
YaYa’s is the 10th Wichita restaurant since June 11 to share publicly that it was voluntarily closing after an employee either tested positive for the virus or was exposed to someone who had. I’ll let you know when YaYa’s reopens.
