Barbecue, steak, crawfish and brunch: A list of 2020 Father’s Day specials in Wichita
Mother’s Day in the midst of a pandemic was ... weird.
Father’s Day might also be a bit unusual.
Despite all that, several Wichita restaurants are trying to put together something special for dads, who will be celebrated nationwide on Sunday.

6S Steakhouse, 6200 W. 21st St.: This Wichita restaurant is offering a free cocktail with the purchase of any steak from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Father’s Day. Patz will perform from noon to 2 p.m. Make a reservation at opentable.com.
Chick N Max, Several Wichita locations: This restaurant is offering a Father’s Day Family Meal for delivery or pickup on Sunday that costs $29.99 and includes 12 tenders, 12 wings and three family sides. Chick N Max is also selling a “Big Box of Sandwiches,” which includes 12 sandwiches, 12 bags of chips and 12 desserts and starts at $90. Need a gift, too? The restaurant also is selling its sauces and spice blends three for $15.
Country Kitchen, 915 E. 53rd St. North : Dads receive half off any entree and a free koozie on Father’s Day when customers mention the restaurant’s Facebook post. Limit one per family.
Firehouse Subs, several Wichita locations: This restaurant is offering a family meal deal in honor of Father’s Day that’s good through June 29. It offers a choice of three medium subs, three bags of chips and three cookies for $24.
Fleur De Vin, 2721 E. Central: This new wine bar is putting on a “Man-mosa” Father’s Day brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. It’s accepting reservations for parties of two, and the brunch will include a brunch board for two that costs $25 and features fruit, croissants, bagels, yogurt parfaits and a macaron. Headshots, 2120 N. Woodlawn: This restaurant is having a Father’s Day weekend crawfish boil from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. lt will feature crawfish, blue crab, jumbo shrimp and crab legs by the pound. Get tickets at eventbrite.com.
Jimmie’s Diner, 3111 N. Rock Road, 1519 George Washington: Dads get a free ice cream float on Father’s Day.
Journey East Asia Grill, 4510 E. 19th St., 316-978-2828: Offering Father’s Day meal packages to go that range from $34.99 to $45.99. Curbside pickup available. Call to order.
McAlister’s Deli: Dads get a free nacho basket on Father’s Day with the promo code NACHOS4DAD.
Public at the Brickyard, 129 N. Rock Island: Serving a Sunday brunch menu featuring corned beef hash on special, $5 mimosas, and brunch drink flights. Guitarist Sterling Gray will perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For reservations, visit publicoldtown.com.
Rib Crib, 500 S. Ridge Road, 316-977-8855: This Wichita barbecue restaurant is offering a Father’s Day family meal to go that costs $79.99, feeds six to eight and includes a rack of ribs, smoked chicken, chopped brisket, a family-sized side salad, baked beans, potato salad, bread, a chocolate cream pie and all the necessary condiments. Call to place an order.
Redrock Canyon Grill, 1844 N. Rock Road, 316-636-1844: This restaurant is serving a $59 Fathers’ Day Family Pack to go that includes barbecue pork ribs and rotisserie chicken plus sides, salad and dessert. It serves four and is available for curbside pickup only. Pre-order by Friday and pick up on Saturday.
Siena Tuscan Steakhouse, 104 S. Broadway: This restaurant inside the Ambassador Hotel is serving a Father’s Day special featuring a 32 oz Porterhouse steak with salsa verde and local greens for $75 anytime over the weekend. Twelve, 12111 W. Maple, 316-440-2812: This restaurant is offering a special Father’s Day lunch service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and dinner service from 4 to 8 p.m. Lunch will feature smoked pulled pork and cornmeal crusted catfish. Dinner will feature both of those plus house-smoked prime rib. Reservations recommended.
Two Brothers BBQ & Sports Grill, 6730 W. Central, 316-440-4077: This barbecue restaurant is offering a special barbecue brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. It’s $17.99 a person. Reservations are recommended.
Two Olives, 2949 N. Rock Road: This restaurant is putting on a Father’s Day Brunch from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. on Sunday. It’s $24 for adults, $22 for seniors, $12 for children ages 5-12 and free for 4 and under. Reservations are encouraged at http://bit.ly/twoolivesreservations.
