Wichita restaurants reopening for dine-in during the first week of June
It’s the first week of June — and this week will mark a month since restaurants were allowed to reopen their dining rooms amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Though many have already opened, several other favorites have been waiting. But a bunch of them will be back this week, including Prost, Old Mill Tasty Shop and Dave & Buster’s.
Here’s a look at the restaurants making their returns this week:
Opened over the weekend
The Donut Whole, 1720 E. Douglas: The lobby at this doughnut shop reopened over the weekend.
Dave & Buster’s, 2644 N. Greenwich Court: This relatively new-to-Wichita arcade and restaurant reopened over the weekend with several new safety protocols. It’s hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Thursdays, 4 to 11 p.m. Fridays, noon to 11 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays.
Monday
Old Mill Tasty Shop, 604 E. Douglas: After a long stretch doing carryout only, this Wichita institution reopened on Monday, June 1 for dine-in.
Il Vicino: Both the College Hill and Bradley Fair restaurants are open for dine-in as of Monday, June 1.
Vietnom Nom, 8641 W. 13th St.: This Vietnamese restaurant resumed its dine-in service on Monday, June 1.
Hot Stone Korean Grill, 3743 N. Rock Road: This restaurant is reopen for dine-in as of Monday, June 1. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner.
Dog N Shake, many Wichita locations: The drive-throughs have been open, and as of Monday, June 1, the lobbies are, too.
Lina’s Mexican Restaurant, 3570 N. Woodlawn: The dining room is reopen as of Monday, June 1.
Quincy’s Bar & Grill, 2047 N. West St.: Reopening for dine-in on Monday, June 1.
Alejandro’s Fast Mexican Food, 2110 N. Maize Road: Open for limited dine-in starting Monday, June 1.
LoLo’s Crepes: This popular food truck has been down for awhile but is back at it as of Monday, June 1. See its schedule here.
Kirby’s Beer Store, 3227 E. 17th St. North: This bar reopened for business on Monday, June 1.
Tuesday
Prost, 2721 E. Central: Wichita’s German restaurant has been doing carryout but will reopen on Tuesday, June 2, for dine-in — with several precautions.
Felipe’s Jr., 9718 E. Harry: This Mexican restaurant reopened for dine-in on Tuesday, June 2.
Pho Chopstix, 2233 N. Ridge Road: Reopening for limited dine-in as of Tuesday, June 2.
Paradise Donuts, 612 E. Douglas: The shop at 10608 W. Maple has been open, but the one on Douglas reopens on Tuesday, June 2.
Mort’s Martini Bar, 923 E. First St.: It’s not a restaurant, but this Old Town hot spot is back with its regular hours starting on Tuesday, June 2.
Vorshay’s Cocktail Lounge, 417 E. Douglas: This downtown bar reopened on Tuesday, June 2.
Wednesday
Beautiful Day Cafe, 2516 E. Central: This healthy-dining restaurant will return on Wednesday, June 3, for dine-in.
Thursday
Passage to India, 6100 E. 21st: This Indian restaurant’s popular buffet will be back starting Thursday, June 4.
Friday
Cana Wine & Cocktails, 221 S. Broadway: Reopening Friday with precautions and patio seating.
Opening soon
The Artichoke Sandwichbar, 811 N. Broadway: This favorite downtown restaurant and bar reopens the dining room on June 8.
The Anchor, 1109 E. Douglas: This popular old town pub is closed for a deep clean and regrouping, but owner Schane Gross says she’ll reopen “soon” with many new safety protocols.
Milkfloat, 535 W. Douglas: This dessert, lunch and breakfast restaurant reopened for carryout as of Wednesday, June 3. It will reopen for dine-in on Monday, June 8.
