Many more Wichita restaurants are returning this week, others tease plans to reopen soon

The state-wide stay-at-home order will persist for at least another two weeks and some change.

But Wichita restaurants that closed down when coronavirus fears first started in March continue to stage their comebacks, even if it’s just for to-go. Several favorites, including Sabor and College Hill Deli, reopened their doors last week. Many more will return this week, and several others are hinting imminent returns.

Here’s the new batch:

Espresso to Go Go, 102 St. Francis: Warren and Ann Tandoc’s downtown coffee reopens today (April 20) with contact-less pickup orders. The new hours are 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Fridays. Place orders and schedule pickup times at www.unicorntogo.com.

Margarita’s Cantina, 3109 E. Douglas This Mexican restaurant reopens today (April 20) for to-go orders. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Call 316-682-2299 to place an order.

Pho Cuong, 6605 E. 37th St. North: This pho restaurant, which has been closed since March 22, will return for to-go orders on Tuesday with temporary hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Angelo’s, 5321 E. Central: This Wichita institution was closed for only about a week for some deep cleaning, but that was long enough. They’ll be back doing curbside orders on Tuesday. The hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Common Grounds Coffee House, 2812 E. Douglas: This coffee shop reopened Friday with carryout orders only from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call ahead for to go food orders at 316-295-4783.

The Monarch, 579 W. Douglas: This Delano bar and restaurant reopened for to-go late last week, and owners decided to do it again his week. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Manna Wok, 4865 E. Harry: After a three-week shut down, this favorite Korean restaurant returned last Wednesday. Carryout hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Coming soon

Mo’s Hut, 2800 E. Central: This Hawaiian food restaurant will reopen with to-go service on Tuesday, April 28.

Molino’s Mexican Cuisine and Molino’s Taqueria: Mario Quiroz is hard at work on a comeback plan for his two Wichita restaurants, and the return could come as soon as next week.

Yokohama Ramen Izakaya and Yokohama Ramen Joint: Owner Jack Fakuda announced this weekend that he plans to get both of his restaurants back up and running for to-go orders at the beginning of May. And over the weekend, Izakaya finally got its snazzy new sign put up.

Leslie Coffee Co., 930 W. Douglas: Sarah Leslie also revealed over the weekend that she’s planning a comeback for her Delano coffee shop for the first week of May.

Smallcakes Wichita, 8338 E 21st St.: This “cupcakery” will reopen on May 1 but is accepting orders now at 316-685-2253.

Egg Crate Cafe, 8606 W. 13th: It’s been closed since March 22, but this west-side breakfast restaurant’s owners hinted Monday morning that it may return soon with “brinner.” (That’s breakfast for dinner, in case you didn’t know.)
