Another week, another restaurant opening at the corner of 13th and Tyler.
The new Tyler Pointe, that colorful strip center that popped up over the summer, has had two new restaurants open in it during the past couple of months: Bagel Haus in September and Hurricane Sports Grill earlier this week.
On Monday, it will add a third: VietNom Nom.
The new restaurant, owned by Huyvu Nguyen, will have a fast-casual setup and will serve favorite Vietnamese dishes like bun, banh mi and pho. Nguyen said he decided on a restaurant focused on his mother’s recipes – things she learned to make growing up in Vietnam, before the family immigrated to the United States in 1984.
He compares the restaurant’s setup to Pei Wei. People will order their dishes at the counter and their food will be delivered to their tables. The menu also includes kids meals. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Stay tuned, because Tyler Pointe isn’t quite done with new eateries. Kolace Dough Co. & Eatery is scheduled to open next month.
